The Haunting (1962) (Cinespia) - Wonderful bonding experience with our new and still agent Toochis. She used to work for Nelson Gidding (the writer) and loves this classic ghost story directed by him. It still holds up, but the giggling, snarky crowd gave me flashbacks to college classes where no one could take the films seriously. This visit is a good reason we haven't made Cinespia yet in 2008.
Gas-s-s-s-s-s-s-s (1971) - Roger Corman brings the counterculture to the front, man, with this weird George Armitage-scripted post-apocalyptic comedy freakout. The title gas has killed everyone over 25 but you can't trust those folks anyway. With Ben Vereen, Cindy Williams and Tally Coppola. Odd but not very good.
Grade: C
Ong Bak (2003) - The first big Tony Jaa hit, and this guy is great. I think it's strange that we haven't seen much of him in the years since this and The Protector. Overwrought drama provides some unintentional laughs but overall a solid action pic.
Grade: B+
OK - by my rough count, that puts me with 94 to go in 2007 (a little over a month and a year and 194 total flicks behind RIGHT NOW).
Getting closer...gooood night.12:03 a.m. Good night and HAPPY CATURDAY!
